Patrol Competition

With the forming of patrols a little competition begins between the Wolves and Ravens.  Keep up with each weeks scores and see who is going to get the price for the term by clicking the Patrol Competition link on the right.

Ravens would have won last week if they hadn't lost a couple of points for poor team work right at the end of the night.  Lets see if they can make up for it next week.

Marks, Get Set, Cook

This seems to be settling in as a firm favourite. Another cooking night with a 3 course meal required from previous unseen ingredients.

This was also the first evening where the Scouts were in Patrols and would be in competition with each other. The Ravens, The Wolves and The Senior Patrol Leaders.

The Wolves.
Starter - Pear and Banana.
Main - Sausage Casserole with sweet potato mash and mange tout.
Dessert - Pancakes.




The Ravens
Starter - Tuna and Sweetcorn
Main - Stir fry Spicy Chicken with carrot and parsnip on a bed of rice.
Dessert - Diced Pear, Sweetened Cream Cheese and a Caramelised Sugar topping.




The Senior Patrol Leaders
Starter - Spaghetti with tomato and egg.
Main - Spaghetti Bolognese
Dessert - Chopped apple and yoghurt

Water Minute

Obviously got too involved helping out so only have photos of a each teams attempt to make a water powered device to measure 1 minute.  With 74 seconds and 52 seconds 2 teams were very good.

 
The other team?  Well, we would still be there now if we had waited for their cup to descend to the floor.

2013 Meriden Scout Camps

Just an early warning so that dates can be put on your calendars.

We have 2 camps scheduled in for the first half of 2013.

26th - 28th April and 28th - 30th June.

The April dates are to be confirmed (but shouldn't change)

The June dates are set as we will be going to the Malvern Challenge.  This is the UKs largest annual festival of Scouts and Guides with up to 3500 attending.
