A fantastic weekend where, as you can see, we won a fairly impressive certificate and an even more impressive eagle trophy.  Brilliant work.

Desert Island Challange

The scouts were given a set of materials and a list of things to build on their desert island.  It worked really well and they seemed to really enjoy it.


They needed to build a flag pole, put up a washing line, secure the raft, tie up the dog and a few other tasks.

Bridges

After a refresher the week before with knots and lashings we went up to Rough Close to use their large pioneering poles. 

Strategy Weekend

Strategy is a fantastic weekend with, this year, about 1600 Scouts and Guides taking part in a day hike with up to 30 challenges to complete then a disco, dancing and fun activities on the Sunday.  It is a fantastic event and everyone had a great time.


235 teams took place with Meriden coming
22nd - Amazing
49th - Brilliant
73rd - Superb
222nd - Always good to have room for improvement!


Our youngest team also got second place on one of the sets of challenges which, for Scouts who only came up from Cubs 3 months ago, was awesome.
