Camp at the Scout Hut

Lunch time
Tripod lashing to build a shelter
Everyone loves a fire, especially when it has last years Christmas tree on it.
Some leaders can only afford very small tents!
Packing a tent away is not easy
but it gets done in the end.

Trafalger Night

Mid October saw us celebrating Trafalgar day by the patrols making catapults and suitable fleets. The object was to smash the opposing patrols paper boat fleet with the catapult. One patrols catapult was much better than the other on the account that the lashings actually held together.

Group Camp Sep '17

The first weekend back from the Summer Holidays and we were off to Pikes pool for Group Camp. Friday night was drizzly and wet and putting the tents up and sorting our kit wasn’t much fun. But after a good night’s sleep, the following morning was dry. The Scouts soon fires going for a full breakfast, while the Explorers rustled something up on their hike stoves. The we were off for a day’s walk. The evening was filled with wide games with the Cubs before some songs round the fire and a late night. Sunday saw us making and sailing rafts, with much hilarity. Several Scouts seemed to spend more time in the water than on their rafts.  Ultimately, a good camp was had by all.

18th July

Yet again finished the year with lots of silly and wet games. used a trebuchet made by the Explorers to fire water bombs for catching, followed by water race relays and the annual smashing of eggs on foreheads.
